Clinical Fellow in Elderly Care

Lincolnshire We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Clinical Fellow in Elderly Care to take a 6 month contract in a hospital in Lincolnshire.



You provide middle grade support to the Consultant Physicians in Elderly Care & Specialist Rehabilitation and provide daytime commitment to the Care of the Elderly Medical Wards when necessary. Clinical duties will involve participation in the Consultant led ward rounds; own ward reviews, providing necessary support to the juniors, and out patient clinics



You will be expected to provide Middle Grade opinion with regard to inter-departmental referrals. There is a full shift pattern rota in operation in the Division of Medicine for middle grade doctors and this post-holder will participate on this rota. The junior doctor accepts that they will also perform duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances at the request of the appropriate Consultants.

In view of the pattern of working, special arrangement for leave and leave cover would apply. Additionally, the Clinical Fellow would be expected to provide cover to patients on wards other than his/her allocated base ward. These arrangements if necessary would be co-ordinated by the Medical Staff Co-ordinator



There would be 10 core sessions consisting of 2 Outpatient Clinics, 7 Ward work and 1 session for Administration/CPD, plus an additional two sessions for on-call cover. The post involves supervision of the medical SHOs/F2s, and F1 doctors.



Requirements:

Full GMC registration

valid work permit if applicable

ALS is desireable

experience at SHO General Medicine/Elderly Care level
